To get started, you need to subscribe to the Pro plan or higher on the Mixcloud website. Then, follow these steps to set up your 24/7 stream:

  • Create a stream on Mixcloud
    • Go to your account — Dashboard — Go Live. You can also create a new stream by clicking the Create button and selecting Go Live at the top next to the profile icon.
    • The platform will offer to create a hidden stream to test all features at your request, but it’s optional. To hide the message, click anywhere on the screen.
    • Select the launch stream via Stream Key (RTMP) in the stream settings window and fill in the title, tags, and description.
    • Additionally, you can set up notifications about the stream launch on Facebook and Twitch pages. To continue, click Save and Continue.
    • The window with the stream data — key and link — will appear. Copy the stream key by clicking on it.
  • Create a stream on Gyre
    • Go to your personal account's Live Streams section and click the Add Stream button.
    • In the settings window, enter the stream name, select Mixcloud, and add the copied key and link.
    • Click Next and select the desired files or playlists in the Video tab. Then, click Save & Close to save the settings.
  • Start the stream
    • Start the stream in the Gyre account. The Mixcloud page will be updated and broadcast the stream. To join the stream, click on it.
  • Ending the stream
    • Stop the stream in the Gyre account. The stream on the Mixcloud side will automatically stop, and viewers will see the OFF status.
    • Important: You can only run one 24/7 stream on one Mixcloud account. You cannot save or view your streams on the platform.

Mixcloud recommends using the following video file parameters for streaming:

  • Audio quality: 320k
  • Video quality: from 720p to 1080p
  • Bitrate: from 2500 kbps to 3500 kbps, CBR
  • Frame rate: 30 fps
  • Aspect ratio: 16:9
  • Keyframe interval: 2s
